Our goal is that we would all experience God’s presence as we walk the path to wholeness, together.

Registration for our 2023/2024 cohorts is open! This year-long journey will allow you to walk in community with like-minded women who are pursuing the love of God. LEARN MORE & REGISTER >

We can only run on empty for so long.

If you are in need for refreshing and renewal, now is the time to tend to your soul and allow God to speak love over you.

Many women have access to strong, biblical teaching and small group prayer. But do we know how to live in God’s loving presence daily and to let that inward filling move us into outward serving? We serve without tending to our souls. How can gifts of the spirit bear fruit of the Spirit without deep communion with God?

Refuge for Strength is both an in-person retreat and a year-long cohort where we experience God’s presence in community on our path to wholeness.

  • Discover God’s goodness in your story

  • Heal into wholeness

  • Listen in community

We are no longer accepting registration for 2022 cohorts online. If you are interested in learning more about the cohorts, please contact joycekoo@gmail.com

Refuge for Strength Women's Night of Worship

All women are invited to join us for an evening of praise and meditations on God's (Hesed) unfailing love for you. "Though the mountains be shaken, and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)

For those who are interested in joining a cohort, we will be introducing the curriculum for the year, Waymaker by Ann Voskamp.

Need some encouragement today? Below are just a few of the talks given at last year’s retreat.

Hearing Jesus’ Voice in the Chaos of Pain

Have you ever felt incapable of hearing God’s voice at times when you most needed to? In her talk at the 2022 retreat, Michele Phoenix shared lessons she learned from five decades of life about pain and trusting in God.

Finding the Goodness of God in Our Story

Do you feel as though your wounds will never be healed or that you will not be able to endure the next trauma? Sharing from a recent experience of loss, Laurie Nichols offers five ways God uniquely shows up in times of trauma and pain.

“You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

- Psalm 16:11
